Ingredients
- 1 box German chocolate cake
- 1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
- 1/2 c. evaporated milk
- 3/4 c. butter
- 1 c. chocolate chips
- 1 c. chopped pecans
Method
- Mix the cake according to directions.
- Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch pan and pour 1/2 the batter into pan.
- Put this half of cake in oven and bake at 350° for 15 minutes.
- In a saucepan over low heat, melt caramels with butter and milk.
- Remove cake from oven and pour the caramel mixture over the half-baked cake.
- Top with chocolate chips and pecans.
- Pour remaining cake mix over the top and return to oven.
- Bake at 350° for another 20 minutes.
