Ingredients

  • 3 lb. boneless pork chops
  • 1 Tbsp. minced garlic
  • 1/3 c. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 3 c. boiling water
  • 1 can applesauce
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 2 to 3 Tbsp. oil

Method

  • Preheat oven to 425°.
  • In a well heated skillet brown pork chops on both sides well (coat pan with 2 to 3 tablespoons oil). Arrange browned chops in a baking dish.
  • Saute garlic in fat left in skillet chops were browned in.
  • Add flour, salt and pepper. Mix well.
  • Add water; cook, stirring constantly, until mixture boils and is thick.
  • Add applesauce and lemon juice.
  • Mix.
  • Pour over chops.
  • Bake for 1 hour or until tender.
