Ingredients
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 heaping Tbsp. sugar
- 1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1 c. warm water
- 2 c. flour (approximately)
- melted butter
Method
- Melt shortening; add sugar.
- Add enough flour to thicken like gravy.
- Mix in dissolved yeast; add flour until dough is quite firm.
- Use more flour if needed, or less.
- Cover and let stand about 15 minutes.
- Roll out and cut with rim of small glass.
- Fold circle over and dip in melted butter.
- Put on greased baking sheet.
- Place in cold oven and turn on to 400° and bake about 15 minutes, until light brown.
