Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. devil's food cake mix
  • 2/3 c. cooking oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 9 oz. chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 c. pecans, broken
  • 1 pkg. instant chocolate pudding mix

Method

  • In large bowl, combine the cake mix, oil, baking powder and eggs.
  • Prepare pudding mix according to directions on the package. Add the pudding to the cake mixture and stir together.
  • Pour into well oiled 9 x 13-inch cake pan.
  • Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts.
  • Bake at 350° for 40 minutes on lowest shelf in the oven.
  • Sometimes I mix the chocolate chips and nuts with the batter and frost the cake with buttercream frosting.
  • It is yummy either way, but has a tendency to fall.
  • If this is a problem, make cupcakes instead.
