Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. milk
  • 3 slightly beaten egg yolks
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. heavy cream, whipped (sweetened to taste with powdered sugar)
  • 2 medium ripe sliced bananas
  • 1 c. heavy cream, whipped

Method

  • Combine sugar, flour, cornstarch and salt.
  • Gradually stir in milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture boils and thickens. Stir a little of the hot mixture into the egg yolk and return to hot mixture.
  • Stirring constantly, bring just to boiling. Cool thoroughly. Beat well with electric mixer.
  • Add vanilla. Fold in whipped cream.
