Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 4 oz. (4 sq.) unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 4 eggs
  • powdered sugar

Method

  • In large saucepan over low heat, melt margarine and chocolate, stirring constantly until smooth.
  • Remove from heat; cool slightly.
  • Stir in flour, sugar, nuts, baking powder, salt and eggs; mix well.
  • Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour.
  • Heat oven to 300°.
  • Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
  • Roll in powdered sugar, coating heavily.
  • Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 300° for 13 to 18 minutes, or until set.
  • Immediately remove from cookie sheet.
  • Cool completely.
  • Yields 4 dozen.
