Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 c. quick-cook oatmeal
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 3/4 c. margarine
  • 1 can apple pie filling
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Method

  • Combine flour, oats, brown sugar and nutmeg in mixing bowl. Cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Press half of mixture into bottom of 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
  • Bake 5 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and spread apple pie filling mixed with cinnamon over crust.
  • Sprinkle with remaining oat mixture, pat lightly.
  • Continue baking 25 minutes or until lightly brown.
  • Cool and cut into bars.
  • Makes 24 servings.
  • Freezes well.
