Ingredients

  • 5 c. flour
  • 1/4 pkg. dry yeast
  • 3 or 4 zucchini
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 1/4 c. water
  • 1 egg yolk, beaten
  • 1 c. walnuts, chopped

Method

  • Wash and cut the ends off the zucchini.
  • Grate the zucchini in a large bowl.
  • Then sprinkle the salt onto the zucchini.
  • Let it sit for 30 minutes.
  • When the time is up, squeeze the zucchini and the salt together.
  • Mix the yeast and tepid water in a different bowl and add flour.
  • Mix in the zucchini mixture and let the batter rise in a warm place.
  • After dough has risen, fold in the chopped nuts and pour the egg yolk on top of the dough.
  • Bake in 425° oven for 40 or 45 minutes.
