Ingredients
- 1/2 c. finely chopped onion
- 1/4 c. finely chopped green pepper
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 can (28 oz.) tomatoes with liquid, cut up
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. dried basil
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 c. celery
Method
- In a medium skillet saute onions, pepper and celery until tender.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Simmer 5 to 10 minutes. Make dumplings.
- Add to bubbling mixture by tablespoons.
- Cover tightly and simmer for 12 to 15 minutes.
