Ingredients
- 2 1/2 c. rolled oats
- 3/4 c. packed brown sugar
- 3/4 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. melted butter
- 1 (22 oz.) pkg. brownie mix
- 1 c. nuts
Method
- Mix oats, sugar, flour, soda and salt in a bowl.
- Stir in melted butter.
- Reserve 3/4 cup of mixture.
- Pat oatmeal mixture in bottom of greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake 10 minutes at 350°. Cool 5 minutes.
- Prepare brownie mix, using the fudgey recipe instead of the cake recipe on the box.
- Add
- the nuts.
- Spread batter evenly over baked crust.
- Sprinkle with reserved oatmeal mixture.
- Bake according to package directions.
- Cool, cut in squares.
