Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. soft shortening (Crisco)
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. thick sour cream (8 oz.)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 3/4 c. flour, sifted
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Method

  • Cream shortening, sugar and eggs.
  • Add vanilla and sour cream. Mix well.
  • Mix all dry ingredients together.
  • Add slowly to shortening mixture and blend well.
  • Refrigerate at least 1 hour. Drop by rounded teaspoon about 2-inches apart on foil lined baking sheet.
  • Bake at 350° until lightly browned or when lightly touched until finger almost no imprint remains.
