Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs (save 1 white)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 egg white, beaten stiff

Method

  • Cream butter and add white sugar.
  • Add eggs and mix well.
  • Add dry ingredients and mix.
  • Add vanilla and blend.
  • Pour into 9 x 13-inch pan.
  • Sprinkle nuts over top.
  • Cover with topping made by beaten egg white and brown sugar.
  • Bake at 350° for 40 minutes or until brown.
  • Serve while warm.
