Ingredients
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 1/2 pkg. dry yeast
- 2/3 c. Crisco
- 3 Tbsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. mashed potatoes
- 1 c. potato water
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 7 c. all-purpose flour
Method
- Mix yeast in warm water and set aside.
- Mix Crisco, potatoes, sugar, salt and eggs.
- Add yeast and potato water which should be cool.
- Add flour, 2 cups at a time and knead.
- Let rise until double in bulk.
- Work down.
- May be put in refrigerator and made out into rolls as needed.
- Cover with damp towel; take out every day and knead.
