Ingredients
- 2 egg whites
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 2 c. sifted powdered sugar
- 1 tsp. vinegar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. broken pecans or walnut pieces
Method
- In bowl, beat egg whites and salt until soft peaks form. Gradually beat in sugar, vinegar and vanilla.
- Continue beating until very stiff.
- Fold in nuts.
- Drop by teaspoonful on greased baking sheet.
- Bake at 300° for 15 to 20 minutes or until firm. (Cookies should remain light colored.)
- Cool on wire rack.
- Makes about 3 1/2 dozen small cookies.
