Ingredients
- 4 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. light corn syrup
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. undiluted evaporated milk
- 1/3 c. chunk-style peanut butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- In saucepan, combine sugar, syrup, salt, milk and 3/4 cup water.
- Bring to boil, cover and cook for 2 minutes.
- Uncover and cook, without stirring, until soft ball stage (232°).
- Remove from heat.
- Cool to lukewarm and add peanut butter and vanilla.
- Beat until mixture thickens and loses its gloss.
- Pour into buttered 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
- Cool.
