Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. corn syrup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 2 c. salted peanuts (Planters)
  • 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Place sugar, corn syrup and water in 2-quart casserole.
  • Cook on High in microwave (750 watts) 5 minutes.
  • Stir.
  • Add peanuts. Continue on High 13 to 15 minutes or until syrup separates into threads.
  • Stir in melted butter, baking soda and vanilla just until light and bubbly.
  • Pour into cookie sheet (Teflon coated). Spread.
  • Cool for approximately 1 hour and break into pieces. Makes 1 1/4 pounds.
