- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 1/4 cups white sugar
- 1 1/8 cups vegetable oil
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 1/2 tablespoons poppy seeds
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract
- 1 1/2 teaspoons butter-flavored extract
- Glaze:
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/2 teaspoon butter-flavored extract
Method
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Grease and flour a large loaf pan.
- Combine flour, salt, and baking powder in a bowl.
- Beat 2 1/4 cups sugar, vegetable oil, and eggs in another bowl until smooth.
- Stir milk, poppy seeds, 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 1/2 teaspoon almond extract, and 1 1/2 teaspoon butter extract into egg mixture.
- Add flour mixture; mix until batter is just moistened.
- Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 50 to 60 minutes.
- Whisk 3/4 cup sugar, orange juice, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/2 teaspoon almond extract, and 1/2 teaspoon butter extract in a bowl until smooth.
- Pour orange juice glaze over hot poppy seed loaf.
