Ingredients

  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 c. rolled oats
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. (1 stick) Shedd's spread Country Crock, melted
  • 4 c. sliced fresh or canned fruit (use a mix of apples, pitted cherries, peaches, pears and berries; drained)

Method

  • Heat oven to 350°.
  • In a medium bowl blend together flour, oats, sugar, cinnamon, salt, baking soda and baking powder.
  • Stir in Shedd's spread.
  • Using pastry blender or fingertips, work it like pastry to form a crumbly mixture.
  • Spread half the mixture in an even layer over bottom of an 8-inch square pan.
  • Do not press down on it.
  • Spoon fruit over crust to form an even layer.
  • Scatter remaining mixture evenly over top.
  • Bake 35 to 40 minutes until lightly browned.
  • Serve warm.
