Ingredients
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 c. warm water
- 1 c. boiling water
- 1 c. Crisco
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 beaten eggs
- 6 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 stick melted butter
Method
- Mix yeast, sugar and warm water in 2-cup measuring cup.
- Let this rise to top of cup.
- Mix boiling water, Crisco, sugar and salt in large bowl; stir until Crisco melts.
- Add yeast mixture.
- Add beaten eggs.
- Beat in flour.
- Cover bowl and let rise until double. Punch bread down and turn out on floured wax paper.
- Knead like biscuits.
- Roll out and cut with small cutter.
- Dip each piece in melted butter.
