Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. scalded milk
- 1 c. soft bread crumbs
- 1 1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
- 1 c. cooked macaroni
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 Tbsp. chopped parsley
- 1 Tbsp. chopped onion
- 3 Tbsp. melted butter
Method
- Pour hot milk over soft bread crumbs and cheese.
- Cover until cheese melts, then add macaroni, beaten egg yolks, parsley, salt, onions and melted butter.
- Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry.
- Fold into mixture.
- Pour into well-greased casserole and bake in a preheated 350° oven for 35 to 45 minutes (must be eaten immediately or it will fall).
- Good dish for the Fridays of Lent.
