Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 whole shallot, minced
- 1/2 tablespoon fresh ginger root, minced
- 1/4 cup sake
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon Asian chile sauce
- 1 cup tomatoes, crushed
Method
- Heat oil over medium heat in a saucepan.
- Add garlic, shallots and ginger.
- Saute for 30 seconds and add crushed tomatoes, sake, sugar and chile sauce.
- Simmer for 15 minutes.
- Remove sauce from heat and set aside.
- When cool, puree in blender until smooth.
- Reheat to serve.
