Ingredients

  • 1 qt. beef bouillon (2 cans plus 2 cans water)
  • 3 c. thinly sliced yellow onions
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • grated Mozzarella cheese
  • grated Parmesan cheese
  • croutons or French bread, cut up

Method

  • Saute onions in butter slowly, covered.
  • Cook 15 minutes on low (not browned).
  • Add salt, sugar and flour, stir well.
  • Put all in crock-pot with bouillon.
  • Cook 6 to 8 hours on low or 3 hours on high.
  • Place croutons in bowl.
  • Add soup.
  • Top with grated cheeses.
  • Brown a little under broiler.
