Ingredients
- 4 c. sliced peaches
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 egg, beaten
Method
- Place peaches in 8 x 12-inch buttered casserole dish.
- Sprinkle with 3/4 cup sugar and nutmeg.
- Sift together flour, 2 tablespoons sugar, baking powder and salt.
- Cut in shortening; add milk and egg and mix until just blended.
- Spread over fruit.
- Bake at 375° for about 50 minutes.
