Ingredients
- round steak, quartered
- oil
- 1/2 c. flour (or more if needed)
- salt and pepper to taste
- chopped carrots
- chopped onions
- chopped celery
- 1 can stewed tomatoes
- shredded cheese
Method
- Pound with meat pounder flour, salt and pepper into steak. Brown (in oil) on both sides.
- Remove from pan and place in casserole.
- Stir in same pan a little more flour.
- Add tomatoes, celery, onion and carrots.
- Bring to a boil.
- Pour over steak, cover and bake for 2 hours in a moderately hot oven. Remove from oven, put cheese on top and return to oven, uncovered, until cheese melts.
