Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 2 1/2 sq. unsweetened chocolate pieces
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 3/4 c. sifted cake flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. pecans or walnuts

Method

  • Melt butter and chocolate in a double boiler.
  • Cream egg and chocolate mixture with sugar and salt.
  • Beat until the mixture is light and smooth, then add vanilla.
  • Sift flour and baking powder. Add the flour and baking powder alternately with the milk into the creamed mixture.
  • Work in the nuts.
  • Drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake at 375° for 8 minutes or until done.
  • Makes 6 dozen.
