Ingredients
- 4 c. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cardamon
- 3 eggs
- 1 stick butter
- 2 Tbsp. cream
- 1 lb. lard
Method
- Combine all dry ingredients.
- Combine eggs, butter and cream. Mix together.
- Form into ball and refrigerate dough in refrigerator overnight.
- Roll out on floured board to 1/4-inch.
- Cut into diamond shape with slit in center.
- Turn one end through the slit. Place on cookie sheet and return cutouts to refrigerator.
- Melt lard in an electric frypan and fry cookies until golden brown.
