Ingredients

  • 1 box Twinkies, split longways
  • 12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
  • 1/3 c. water
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 6 egg whites
  • 8 oz. container Cool Whip

Method

  • Line 9 x 13-inch pan with split Twinkies, minus one set aside. Combine chocolate chips, water and sugar.
  • Cook over low heat until melted.
  • Add egg yolks one at a time, beating mixture after each one; set aside to cool.
  • Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into cooked mixture.
  • Spread over Twinkies.
  • Let set until firm.
  • Spread Cool Whip over chocolate mixture.
  • Refrigerate.
