Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. beef stew, cut in 1/2" pcs
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 2 tbsp. dry chopped onion or possibly 1 med. onion, minced
  • 1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
  • 1/2 soup can dry red wine
  • 1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced and sauteed in butter
  • Warm cooked rice or possibly noodles

Method

  • Sprinkle beef with garlic salt in a 3-qt casserole.
  • Fold in onion, mushroom soup and wine.
  • Cover and bake at 325 degrees for 2 1/2 hrs.
  • Add in mushrooms, cover and bake another 30 min or possibly till meat is tender.
  • (Can add in more wine if it gets too thick.)
  • Serve over warm noodles or possibly rice.
