Ingredients

  • 5 c. peeled and sliced apples
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 3/4 c. quick rolled oats
  • 1/2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts (almonds or pecans)

Method

  • Combine apple slices and 1/2 cup sugar in bottom of 2 quart casserole.
  • Mix butter, oats, flour, 1/2 cup sugar and nuts. Sprinkle butter and oats mixture over apples.
  • Bake in preheated 350° oven for about 1 hour, until topping is brown and apples are tender.
  • Serve warm.
  • May be topped with ice cream.
