Ingredients
- 7/8 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. milk
- 4 oz. butter or meat drippings
Method
- Place flour and salt in bowl and make a well in the center into which pour milk.
- Beat until fluffy.
- Beat eggs lightly.
- Stir into batter.
- Add water and continue beating until mixture light and fluffy.
- Permit to stand for 1 hour (optional).
- Beat it again. Have ready hot oven-proof dish (about 10 x 10-inch) containing about 1/4 inch melted butter or hot beef drippings.
- Pour in batter.
- It should be about 5/8 inch high. Bake the pudding in hot oven, 400°, for about 20 minutes.
- Reduce heat to 350° and bake 10 - 15 minutes longer.
