Ingredients

  • 8 c. flour
  • 2 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1 c. powdered lowfat milk
  • 2 c. veg. shortening
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. baking pwdr
  • 1 tbsp. salt

Method

  • In large bowl, mix dry ingredients.
  • Cut in shortening till it resembles coarse meal.
  • Store in closed container.
  • To make biscuits, make a well with 1 1/2 c. mix, add in 1/3 c. water.
  • Stir quickly with fork till all is moistened.
  • Bake in muffin tins at 350 degrees.
  • To make pancakes, beat 1 egg in a bowl, add in 1 c. water, then 2 c. mix.
  • Bake on warm griddle.
