Ingredients
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 c. milk
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- flour
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 3 egg whites
- 1/2 c. sugar
Method
- Put cornstarch in 1/2 cup.
- Fill rest of cup with flour.
- Mix this with sugar.
- Add salt and mix.
- Add milk, a little at a time, until you get it mixed.
- Cook until thick and add vanilla and butter.
- Beat egg whites until stiff.
- Add 1/2 cup sugar and beat until mixed.
- Fold hot filling into egg whites.
- Mix until well blended.
- Put in a baked, cooled pie crust.
- Put in refrigerator. Whip 1/2 pint cream with 3 tablespoons sugar.
- Put on pie and sprinkle with nuts.
