Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • flour
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/2 c. sugar

Method

  • Put cornstarch in 1/2 cup.
  • Fill rest of cup with flour.
  • Mix this with sugar.
  • Add salt and mix.
  • Add milk, a little at a time, until you get it mixed.
  • Cook until thick and add vanilla and butter.
  • Beat egg whites until stiff.
  • Add 1/2 cup sugar and beat until mixed.
  • Fold hot filling into egg whites.
  • Mix until well blended.
  • Put in a baked, cooled pie crust.
  • Put in refrigerator. Whip 1/2 pint cream with 3 tablespoons sugar.
  • Put on pie and sprinkle with nuts.
