Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. melted butter or margarine
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 2 c. warm water
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 4 c. self-rising flour
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 c. grated Cheddar cheese

Method

  • In large bowl, combine sugar and butter.
  • Dissolve yeast in warm water; add to sugar mixture.
  • Add egg; stir in flour, then garlic powder and cheese.
  • Cover bowl and refrigerate.
  • Dough will rise in refrigerator.
  • It can be baked immediately, but it's better refrigerated a few hours or overnight before using.
