Ingredients

  • 2 qt. apple juice or cider
  • 1 pt. cranberry juice
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. aromatic bitters
  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. whole allspice
  • 1 small orange, studded with whole cloves
  • 1 c. rum (optional)

Method

  • For best results, be sure to begin the vinegar well in advance since you'll need to let it stand for a while to absorb the flavors.
  • Put the flavoring of your choice in clean bottles and fill them with plain wine vinegar.
  • Leave an inch free at the top if you need to insert a cork or glass stopper.
