Ingredients
- 3 to 4 beef shanks, cleaned
- 3 to 4 carrots
- 1 parsnip
- 1 onion
- 2 potatoes
- 1 rutabaga
- chopped fresh parsley
- pinch of saffron
- 2 Tbsp. salt
Method
- Boil meat in salted water about 1 hour.
- Remove scum from water and keep boiling.
- Cut up vegetables and add to boiling meat.
- Cook about 2 hours.
- Keep adding water.
- Serve with noodles or dumplings.
