Ingredients
- 4 Tbsp. oleo
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 c. chopped green peppers
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 2 c. canned peas, drained
- 1/2 c. shredded carrot
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 3 Tbsp. flour
Method
- Make pastry with 2 1/2 cups of flour.
- Melt butter in skillet. Add onion, green peppers and beef; brown lightly.
- Add peas and carrots and sprinkle with salt, pepper and 3 tablespoons of flour. Stir well.
- Divide pastry dough in half.
- Roll each into a 12-inch circle.
- Moisten edges of dough with water.
- Fold pastry over filling like a giant turnover and press edges together to seal.
- Cut open design for escape of steam.
- Bake in a very hot oven (450°) for 15 minutes.
- Reduce heat to moderate (375°) and continue baking for 20 minutes.
