Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 12 carrot
- 12 slice bacon
- garlic clove
- 2 teaspoons oil
- 3 ounces minced beef
- 0.5 (8 ounce) can tomatoes
- 2 teaspoons tomato puree
- 12 beef stock cube
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch pepper
- 1 pinch sugar
- 1 pinch dried herbs
Method
- Peel and chop the onion.
- Peel and chop or grate the carrot.
- Chop the bacon.
- Peel, chop and crush the garlic clove.
- Fry the onion and bacon gently in the oil or fat in a saucepan, stirring until the onion is soft (2-3 minutes).
- Add the minced beef and continue cooking, stirring until it is lightly browned.
- Add the carrot, tinned tomatoes (or chopped fresh ones), tomato puree (or ketchup), stock cube and water (or the soup) stirring well.
- Add the salt, pepper, sugar, and herbs.
- Bring to the boil, then lower the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 20-30 minutes, until the meat is tender.
