- 1 14 cups boiling water
- 8 ounces dates, chopped
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 34 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
- 13 cup sugar
- 12 cup brown sugar, packed
- 12 cup canola oil
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 1 12 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 14 cup brown sugar, packed
- 14 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon butter, softened
Method
- In a large bowl, pour boiling water on dates.
- Stir in 1 tsp baking soda.
- Cool about 15 minutes.
- Make chocolate chip topping ( mix all ingredients ).
- Set aside.
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F .
- Stir remaining ingredients into date mixture.
- Pour into greased 9X13-inch pan.
- Sprinkle with topping.
- Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool completely before serving ( about 2 hours ).
