Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. hamburger
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 c. ketchup
  • 1 head cabbage
  • 6 to 8 c. potatoes, diced
  • 4 slices cheese
  • 1 1/2 c. milk

Method

  • Brown hamburger, then season with salt and pepper.
  • Mix in ketchup; set aside.
  • Shred 1/2 head of raw cabbage into baking dish.
  • Add half of raw diced potatoes.
  • Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Add all of hamburger mixture.
  • Cover with slices of cheese.
  • Shred remaining cabbage and sprinkle over cheese.
  • Add remaining raw potatoes.
  • Pour 1 1/2 cups milk over all.
  • Bake at 375° for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
  • Makes 6 to 8 servings.
