Ingredients

  • 1 (2 lb.) beef top round, cut in cubes
  • 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. salad oil
  • 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1 small pineapple, cubed

Method

  • Combine brown sugar, soy sauce, lemon juice, oil, ginger and garlic.
  • Stir in beef.
  • Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours. Stir meat often.
  • Thread meat and pineapple alternately on skewers just before broiling or grilling.
  • Grill approximately 14 minutes, basting occasionally and turning once.
  • Chicken could be substituted.
