Ingredients
- 2 scant c. flour, sifted once before measuring
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 1 egg, unbeaten
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Cream butter and sugar until light.
- Add egg and beat.
- Add milk and flour alternately, beat well.
- Add vanilla.
- Bake in loaf about 25 minutes.
- Double recipe for 3 ten-inch layers.
