Ingredients

  • 4 c. + 4 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 c. Wesson oil
  • 1 c. margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • white or colored sugar (to decorate)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Cream sugars and margarine.
  • Add eggs; beat well.
  • Add oil. Mix in dry ingredients.
  • Refrigerate at least one hour or more is better.
  • Drop by spoonfuls and roll in balls to make perfectly round cookies.
  • Dip bottom of glass in sugar and press down to flatten.
  • Bake at 400° until brown on edges, 10 to 12 minutes. Makes several dozen.
  • I half recipe usually.
