Ingredients

  • 1 lb. super lean hamburger (excellent with venison)
  • 5 scallions, chopped small, including the tops
  • 1 c. grated carrots
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 c. crushed tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp. orange juice
  • 2 Tbsp. steak sauce
  • 1/4 c. golden raisins
  • 2 Tbsp. canola oil

Method

  • Put oil in a nonstick frypan over medium heat.
  • Add scallions, green pepper and carrots.
  • Heat until tender.
  • Add hamburger and brown.
  • Add tomatoes, orange juice, steak sauce and raisins.
  • Let simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Serve open-faced on whole wheat buns.
