Ingredients
- 6 slices bacon, diced
- 1/2 c. finely chopped onion
- 2 (16 oz.) cans baked beans
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 1/2 c. catsup
- 2 tsp. liquid smoke
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- hot sauce to taste
Method
- Brown diced bacon in large skillet.
- Remove bits from drippings and reserve for garnish.
- Saute onions in bacon drippings until tender.
- Add remaining ingredients and stir until mixture begins to bubble.
- Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 30 minutes.
- Garnish with bacon bits before serving.
- Makes 8 servings.
