Ingredients
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 3 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 c. self-rising flour
- 1 c. nuts
Method
- Preheat oven to 325°.
- Melt shortening; add sugar and vanilla. Stir well, then add eggs.
- Stir, then add remaining dry ingredients.
- Use nuts of your choice.
- Pour into a greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch square pan.
- Bake for 25 minutes.
- The secret is to be sure and shake the pan every 5 minutes for a delicious chewy brownie.
