Ingredients
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 2 c. lukewarm water
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 6 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. melted, cooled shortening
- 1 beaten egg
- 6 1/2 c. flour
Method
- Melt the shortening and set aside to cool.
- Mix yeast with the lukewarm water in mixing bowl and stir until completely dissolved. Add salt, sugar, cooled, melted shortening and beaten egg; stir. Add flour and mix.
- Cover with wrap paper and let rise even with top of bowl.
- After rising, roll dough using enough flour to keep from being sticky.
- Cut out rolls with cutter and put in greased bread pan; let rise again.
- Bake at 350° until done.
- Pat butter on top while still warm.
