Ingredients

  • 2 onions
  • 6 to 7 cloves garlic
  • 1 lb. Italian sausage
  • 1 lb. seasoned pork sausage
  • 2 pkg. wild rice and long grain mix
  • 2 Tbsp. Italian seasoning
  • 2 c. pecans
  • 1 c. Parmesan cheese
  • 1 c. bread crumbs
  • 1 c. orange juice

Method

  • Brown sausage until about medium well.
  • Set aside.
  • Brown onions and garlic until soft.
  • Mix with sausage.
  • Prepare rice mix, using low sodium chicken broth instead of water.
  • When rice is done, mix with sausage.
  • Add Italian seasoning, pecans, orange juice and cheese.
  • Mix well.
  • Put mixture in a large baking dish. Sprinkle with bread crumbs.
  • Bake at 350° until crispy on top, 30 to 45 minutes.
