Ingredients
- 3/4 c. warm water
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 1/4 c. sifted flour
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. soft shortening
Method
- In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in water.
- Add sugar, salt and about 1/2 the flour.
- Beat thoroughly 2 minutes.
- Add egg and shortening.
- Beat in remaining flour gradually until smooth.
- Let rise 30 minutes in a warm place.
- Stir down batter and drop into greased medium muffin pans.
- Let rise 10 minutes.
- Bake 10 minutes in 425° oven.
- Makes 1 dozen rolls.
