Ingredients
- 1 lb. prunes
- 3 1/2 c. water
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. prune water
- 4 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 tsp. baking soda
Method
- Cover prunes with water.
- Cover and simmer about 40 minutes. Drain prunes, saving prune water.
- Pit prunes and mash.
- Add sugar, eggs, salt, vanilla and prune water.
- Sift together and add the flour, baking powder and baking soda.
- Bake 1 hour.
