Ingredients
- 1 (3 to 4 lbs) chuck or shoulder roast
- 1 cup flour
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 package dry onion soup mix
Method
- Season flour with salt and pepper.
- Coat roast with mixture, brown in oil on all sides in dutch oven.
- Add water to top of roast.
- Add onion soup mix and stir.
- Bake in 325 degree oven 2 to 2 1/2 hours depending on size of roast.
- Roast is done when it comes apart when pierced with a fork.
